A gigantic wasp (some can be about 2 inches long), a cicada killer (Sphecius speciosus, Sphecidae) is carrying a victim (Tibicen canicularis, Cicadidae) to her home. She had trouble finding her burrow and this enabled me to take some good shots (see the next two photos). MSU campus. July 22 (1:43:56 pm EST), 2003.
