One colony was dead and we found a mother mouse with 5 babies on the bottom board. She ran away, dropping the babies everywhere. I became too softhearted (to a bee pest!) and carefully picked each one, putting them back into the nest, hoping the mother would return. She did return and would ran away each time I checked (although the babies got bigger and attached to her quite tightly in later times) but always returned. April 26, 2003.
